Preparing IMPixED™ updates

About IMPixED™

Useful reading for a small screen—and a bigger idea.

IMPixED™ explores display products and their everyday applications. This blog starts with e-ink and practical image-preparation guidance.

Four intended applications

Key Chains, Price Tags, ID Cards, and Billboards describe what a display could be used for. Check the storefront for the latest product previews and availability.

  • Key Chains: a compact canvas for a short label or simple graphic.
  • Price Tags: a clear item label with deliberate information hierarchy.
  • ID Cards: readable identification layouts, without implying access-control features.
  • Billboards: information-board layouts, without assuming outdoor suitability or a finished large-format product.

The engineering references include 1.54-inch-class examples for Key Chains and Price Tags. The documented key-chain firmware profile is 200 × 200 pixels with a BWYR display palette; the product register does not assign it to a commercial SKU. Use the update instructions for your exact model.

Sources and editorial approach

The eight registered IMPixED™ product identities were checked against the 4 October 2026 product register and catalog baseline on 5 October 2026. All eight were inactive. Read product identifiers for exact SKUs and the distinction between registration, panel specification, and availability.

Technical statements were checked against the local NFC e-ink firmware documentation on 30 September 2026: docs/mobile-app/DISPLAY_FORMATS.md, APP_INTEGRATION.md, TEXT_RENDERING.md, the key-chain README, and the price-tag and generic panel notes.

Those working documents describe device formats and integration behavior. They are not product availability notices or phone-compatibility certification. Device metadata remains the authority when preparing an image. Finished product availability is listed separately in the storefront.

Layout suggestions are editorial examples, not customer stories, test results, or reviews. We do not infer performance, power requirements, enclosure colors, or supported accessories from a category name. BW, BWR, and BWYR describe colors on the screen; case color is a separate choice.

Where to start

Read screen size and display palette before fitting your layout, then follow NFC image preparation to understand the complete image workflow.
